Why are most bigots "conservatives"?

Question

someone who calls same s*x attraction a "lifestyle" is almost always a conservative (how can sexual attraction be a style????) and, if political, almost always a republican.

and what about racists...arent they almost always conservatives? why is that?

and why do people who dislike g**s usually rant about "liberals"?

why do liberals seem more concerned with helping the poor than the conservatives?... you'd think it would be opposite?

Conservatives are the conventional bigots while liberals are bigots in their own way. Liberals are bigots against one group the white heterosexual males(which I might add is no longer a majority) while conservatives are bigots against all forms of people. They equal about the same amount of people hated on both sides.

There really aren't that many bigots on either side, just enough to give the whole group a bad name.

oh yeah...........liberals are soooo not bigots......

i was at a legal conference a few months ago in new york, with a bunch of so-called "liberals."  you should have seen the looks on their faces when they found out i was LDS.  you would have thought they saw a ghost.  

now give me a break.  i live in a neighborhood full of "obama" signs, and i'm treated like a second class citizen because i get up at 9 am on sunday mornings to go to church.

Just because someone may disagree with homosexuality's nature(according to you), does not officially label them a "bigot". I do not condone the violent persecution of homosexuals, but a person should be able to have an opposing position without being called names. You're  not making things any better by calling names friend.

Which was the party of the Great Emancipator? (Abe Lincoln..) Republican...

That's not to say that there aren't a great many conservative bigots..

Liberals aren't as concerned with helping the poor as they are with exploiting them.. (Free money = Blind votes.)

Cadisney is right, there are plenty of liberal bigots. They often hate anyone that deem not oppressed, like white people.

I'll agree with you as far as most homophobes being conservative, but as an atheist conservative, I can tell you that liberals being more concerned with helping the poor is totally false. Statistics show that Conservatives donate to the poor more than Libs. I don't have the proof in a link right now so you can take that for whatever it's worth. Which probably isn't much. But h**l, i tried.... :)

I wish I knew what I did with the article I read about charity donations. Conservatives had the liberals beat by a HUGE margin. While the liberals talk a lot, they are more interested in being recycling police then giving away their money to help people. They want to take money from the "rich" and give it to the poor, not their money (forgetting, if they ever knew it, that a huge majority of the wealthy started out below poverty level and worked their way up. they have just as much right to their hard earned money as any one else).

I actually have found that liberals tend to be more bigoted. When they rant and rail at you for having morals, and sticking to them, when they hate you just because you dared to defend your country, or attend Church on Sunday, well, its pretty bad. I listened to the one liberal radio channel  on day and it was all yelling, name calling, and republican bashing. There was no news, no facts, no figures, just hate. In contrast, while I am not really a Rush fan, he at least gives you facts, past histories, sources etc.

The homosexual thing is very controversial. If you believe in the bible, if you live your life and base your morals on Christian values then homosexuality is a sin. That simple. I do not hate g**s, I have friends and coworkers who are g*y/bi. My best friend for 10 years is bi. It is her choice do do so. I still believe its wrong. Sexual attraction may not be a choice necessarily, but what you DO with it is. The more studies that go into homosexuality the more it supports my beliefs. Of course, its too controversial for the APA to come out against because they like their money. I do not "dislike" g**s. I am not a homophobe. I just believe its a sin, a mistake. I would vote against same s*x marriage because I KNOW in my heart that it will ruin our country one poor messed up child at a time. Live your life the way you wish, just don't force me to condone it.

Here are some issues I have with the general "liberal" mindset.

They flood the streets in Portland and shut it down for a demonstration. It cost the city thousands as businesses got no customers and police had to be out in force. Ambulances couldn't get to the hospitals. In this protest against the war they burned an effigy of an American soldier. While young men and women are risking their lives to prevent another 9/11, thousands of ignorant sheep are marching through a city causing problems and not solving a darn thing. It did nothing but cause problems. If they took the time to educate themselves a bit they would see that its a whole lot more complicated then just pulling the troops home, and that national defense is what allows them to protest instead of being shot for disagreeing with the government.

Conservative is the name for the Confederacy, for racists etc. With a new movement comes new terminology. When a movement is over certain terms disappear. For example, you don't really hear the word Abolitionist or Women's Sufferage anymore.

You need to go spend some time with really extreme liberals and then I dont think you would jump to that same conclusion.

Conservatives think it should be done privately, without gvt intervention.  That doesnt mean they are opposed to helping the poor.

Liberals think it should be done thru the gvt by taking other peoples money that they think dont need it as much.

My sister and I were in LA and we were driving by, in traffic, and a bunch of war protesters (with some disgusting signs) were trying to hand out fliers and kind of disturbing traffic.  My sister didnt want the flyer and then said her husband was in the military and you people dont have a clue what you are talking about.  He started screaming at her and how he was a killer and anyone that supported the war was sick and evil.

There are liberal extremists out there and they are just as bigoted as the conservative ones.

It seems you are practicing bigotry against conservatives and Republicans.  You've become that which you hate...you must be a liberal Democrat.

Your questions are so thinly veiled that a 2 year old could see them for what they are.  Come on, ask a question for which you have not already made up your mind.

Conservative Republicans spend many more dollars than the liberals helping the needy.  A study of taxes dollars paid (public information) crossed against political party (public information) clearly outlines this.  Look it up for yourself, there are plenty of studies.  So you seem to be wrong quite a bit.  

By the way, tolerance is not intrinsically a good thing.  It can be bad to show tolerance - I mention that because, like the word 'bigot', 'tolerance' is another trite word favored by liberals.

The word 'bigot' is a catch word for liberals also.  They feel that if they can label somebody as something that is universally unacceptable, then they can remove that person's/group's credibility.  They have overused that word (and many others) to the point that in the mouth of a liberal, that word (and many other) has lost its potency.
