the close, refresh, back-forward, minimize etc buttons?

  1. The same reason that most keyboard layouts are QWERTY. The same reason we drive on the left in the UK and with a few exceptions everyone else drives on the right.

    It started like that, became accepted as the norm and nobody has bothered to change it!


  2. Because we 'read' from the left side.

    Arab browser/etc functions are often on the right.

  3. I don't what computer you've got, but mine's not like that. Close is top right hand corner, refresh, which is never used is anywhere your cursor happens to be, back/forward is on the left, but minimise is next to the close, top right,
