Does having a pretty face come standard with having a beautiful voice? Or is it just that only the pretty ones get the chance?

  1. It's just that the pretty ones are the ones you look at.

  2. no...see you're not seeing them for what they really are... they have makeup artists.. and photo touch ups... and lots of money to fix them up so they look gorgeous..   but there are the ones that are real and genuine... sometimes it's easy to tell who the fakers are.

  3. I just saw your question randomly on the first page, and wanted to say that I actually heard a study done about this exact same question.

How they conducted the study was to have a variety of guys listen to various female singers, and then pick who they thought sounded best.

They then had pictures of all the singers, and they were told to select who they found most attractive. The majority of the time, the ones they said were the best singers, were also the ones they found to be the most attractive.

There is definitely a correlation. I would say that attractive people are not always good singers, but good singers are almost always attractive(with a few exceptions).

This is a similar study. As you can see, there is a positive correlation between voices, and physical attributes of attraction. Somehow, we can just hear a hot girl. You've probably heard the phrase when someone is speaking on the phone,

"You sound hot." We should say, "How the heck would they know?" But when you think about it, it makes sense. Hot people sound hot.

  4. Only the pretty ones get the chance.  Women with big talent who are unattractive may make it on small indie labels, but they'll never make it to MTV.  Looking good on camera and on stage has come to count even more than talent.  Many "beautiful voices" are really the product of pitch correction software and heavy editing, just the same as most beautiful faces are the product of make-up artists and digital enhancement.

We have become a world of phony people who love everything edited and enhanced, and no longer care for the complex texture of reality.

  5. It comes standard. :D
