My daughter asked me this question today...and come to think of it...I have NO idea. We tried to google it to no avail , all we got were results for stores selling mattresses. Anyone have a clue?

  1. I'm guessing it's a color-thought-association thing. To many people, white things are pure and clean and give a more sanitary impression. That's my guess, anyway, having never thought about it before.

  2. Perhaps it's because you never see the mattress, due to the fact that sheets, pillows, and a comforter cover it.

  3. They probably make them white because no one ever sees them.  Dyed fabric is more expensive, and from a manufacturer's stand point, it's just money down the drain for something that never sees the light of day

  4. So that they stain easily and you want to replace them.
