Why are most of the farms in Japan along the coast?

  1. isn't japan mountainous? if so then the coast is the only area to grow crops... plus soil is always richer with needed vitamens close to the sea.


  2. You mean fish, Oyster farms or agriculture?

    Anyway, land in general is fertile in most coastal areas because of the river water sediments as well as sea floor sediments that was deposited millions of years ago.

  3. becuz of its mountainous relief

    all the cities are along the coast too :)

  4. A long time ago the crops would have needed to be near the coast for water. Now it wouldn't have to be near, but they already are. It makes it a lot easier and cheaper.
