Why are most people so excited over the Kimbo"novice" Slice vs David "over the hill" Abbott fight?

Kimbo is a beginner in MMA and Tank lost all of his last few fights, so what is the big deal?

Because people wanna see Kimbo kill whoever this guy is.  If you've seen some of his amateur fights, you'd know why there is so much hype to see Kimbo in his first MMA fight.

because it is going to be either: a quick mega-punch knockout, OR, an absolute bloodbath...either way the fight should be fun.

Gannoway, you know, I ask my self that same question lately and to be honest it's really difficult to find an answer that any true MMA fan or even any rational human being could understand.

These men are not fighters. They are nothing more then blood thirsty scumbag thugs who have absolutely no business being on such high profile MMA events. Believe me, their presence isn't doing this sport any favors.

Tank Abbott is a man without fighting skill. He only had some results in the very beginning of UFC, when packing a strong punch and just swinging and brawling like a maniac was enough to win a few fights against drunken bar thugs of his own caliber. He got soundly beaten and had his a** handed to him by every, even remotely, serious opponent he ever had in his career and he achieved absolutely nothing in this sport.

And this Kimbo is even worse. He beat up a couple of homeless crack heads on the street, put that on video and posted it on the Internet - and what?! He's a fighter now and worthy of all this attention?!! You know what man, only thing he's worthy of are some criminal charges, but yet here he is, for many people in the spotlight of MMA world tonight, facing his fellow street thug in this highly anticipated match up.

This match is a disgrace that only primitive, ignorant, blood thirsty moron could be excited about. And as far as promotion of MMA as a sport is concerned -  this is literally years of hard work right out the window in my opinion.

The excitement is more for the styles of these two fighters. They both stand and throw a lot of punches and have knocked out a lot of opponents. It is not so much their ability at this point in their career but their intensity and heavy hands. People want to see heavyweights go down.
