Question:

Why are my Yahoo Groups pending members not expiring after the set 14 days, and how can I change that?

I really want my pending memberships to expire after 14 days if I do not approve them. I thought this was standard for yahoo groups but it is not happening on my group. I have some pending members that have been pending for a month already. I don't want to deny them, I just want it to expire like it is supposed to. What can I do?

  1. it is a standard 14 days but really, I know many groups that they go beyond that date. they will eventually just disappear but I never paid attention to count beyond that 14th day.

there really isn't anything you can do. you could report it, but that'd just add to those same other reports- your choice though

  2. 14 days is standard. But if you are that anxious, simply reject them. Start with the obvious 'bots. They don't have feelings.

Expiration is for mods who aren't tending their groups.

There's also a setting for "Invitation Only."

I run open membership and don't really understand why owners would screen for reasons other than age or gender.
