I have just started tracking my bbt. Its was steady for about 2 days 99.4 99.4 then yesterday it went way up 100.2 and now i am back at 99.4 Is this normal? I know my temp by mouth was normally was 97.1 but that was oral, and about 3 weeks ago. I was staying in a treatment facility, Long story, wasn't on drugs. I only mentioned because they would wake you up every morning and take your vitals. My temp was always 97.1 give or take a degree. I dont think i am sick.

Any help?

  1. Sooooo...when were you taking your temps?  Was it when they would wake you up to take your vitals?  Or was it later, when YOU woke up on your own? If you don't get a full 3 hours sleep before your take your temp, it is likely to be higher due to the fact that you were active earlier and your temp hasn't had a chance to drop.  I find that if I even get up to pee in the middle of the night, that my temp is higher than normal.

Was that at the same time that you were taking your temps before?  You have to take your temps at the same time every day, or else the temps don't correlate.  Your temp goes up 0.1 to 0.3 degrees for every hour or so that you sleep in.

Were you using the same thermometer that you were using before the facility?  You should keep using the same thermometer to take your temp-it's possible different thermometers are "off" slightly.

    Good luck!
