I just had new rotors and brake pads put on my car. It sounds like a bus stopping when I brake. Does anyone know why?

  1. Really sounds like they installed them wrong....brakes are only supposed to squeek when they are worn out and need to be replaced

  2. Chances are it is just brake noise and not any problem with the brakes themselves.  I am guessing the car stops fine and there is plenty of pedal (by that I mean that when you push the brake pedal down as far as you can, you are not near the floorboard)?  If that is the case, then you have little to worry about.

  3. Your brakes may be installed wongly or you may have installed the wrong brakes. they may not be genuine. or they may need to run a lil bit gefore the squeal will stop.

  4. that happened to a friend of mine... the dealer where she took her car told her that it was normal, and they were just "getting settled". If it's still doing it after awhile tho, you should take your car back to where u had the work done at.

  5. This happens a lot and is usually nothing to worry about. You either have non factory pads, or non factory discs, or both. You can get this stuff made for stopping brake squeal. You have to take the pads out and spray it on the backs of the pads. It will eliminate or reduce the squealing. Also, make ure you put all the parts back. There may be an anti-squeal shim that got left out. You can get the spray stuff at an auto parts store They'll know what it is. Follow the directions and don't assum more is better. They also make a disk cleaner that you can spray on anytime the discs get covered in brake dust and start making noise. You can spray this on liberally anytime without any disassembly.

  6. they might be wet they sometimes sqeek when there wet like a bike
