Question:

Why are my coloured contacts blurry?

I have gotten some prescription contacts from my optometrist 4 the first time. While at the consultation I chose to try on my clear ones instead of my coloured. My clear contacts are very comfortable and work fine. I am now using my freshlook coloured ones for the first time. The corners appear blurry on. I've had them on for about 2 hours now and its getting abit clearer. Though the corners still appear blurry. Is there a explanation for this? I brought 8 pairs of coloured and 3 pairs of clear... Did I waste my money? Also I have made sure to try them inside out and that to make sure I don't have them on the wrong way. Still same blurry corners. Your help answers would be appreciated. Thanks!

  1. If your pupil diameter is larger than the aperture in the center of the colored lenses, then you will register a bit of the color in your line of sight.  You may find this becomes less noticeable as you wear them, but you find it just drives you nuts...it does me.
