They always stay in one corner of the tank. There's plenty of shelter besides in that corner but they never come out but to feed, even when i tap the glass they'll only swim breifly out then reurn to their spot. I've adjusted the filter, but it doesn't seem to have made a differnece.

  1. im really not sure my angle fish doesthat it has other fish in thwe tank my angle fish is the king of the tank. but i really don't no why? sorry good luck though

  2. My 2 comets kind of hang out in one spot, not necessarily the corner, but they kind of just hover when I cut their light out at night. That is supposed to be kind of like fish sleep since they don't have eyelids, nor lay down (although I have seen cute YouTube video's of fish that will lay at the bottom of their tank to rest, or float belly up until you rub them, then they swim around) Anyhow, if they are only doing it at "night" when you cut the light, or for certain periods of the day they may just be relaxing. Now if it is constant they may be lethargic & this is a sign that the fish is ill in some way. My comets are quite active all day, especially when they see me coming, they are like little puppies right at the glass swimming to where ever I put my hand. They also come up and nibble at my hand when I stick my hand in the tank to move stuff around. They are very friendly with me & I have only had them about 1 month. Good luck!

Oh yeah, please don't tap the glass!

  3. what other fish do you have in the tank it might be the case where one fish is territorial just an idea.what fish do you keep with it and did you just get it?good luck

  4. newly bought fish are like that try no feeding for 3 days and see if they will hunt for food.

    kOi keeper & goldfish keeper.

  5. I think u buyed ur comet fish newly, because all goldfish and fish when introduced newly to a tank remain shy or scared. Dont worry mine also happened they also didn eat food for 3 days but after that thier scariness gone and they are swimming happily in the tank. Ur comet fish will slowly adjust to ur aquarium environment and later they will swim around the whole aquarium. Dont try to tap the glass! this will make them more frightened. Just leave them by themselves and they within days they will soon adjust to ur aquarium. Try to give sunken food to them as they are not eating.

PS: Try as much possible to not to go near ur tank, as they will become more frightened.Try to observe them in a place where ur fish cannot see u, and u will see that in a couple of minutes ur comet goldfish is hanging around or swimming around the tank! Good luck!
