Why are my crookneck squash shriveling and falling off on the vine.?

My pumpkins and zuchinni too. The pumpkins get about an inch and a half in daimeter and then they fall off. I looked inside them and there are no worms or anything.

  1. Hasn't been pollinated.............there is a shortage of bees.


  2. Pollination.  The male and female blossoms have to get their pollen together.  If the bees don't do it, you can do it with a small paintbrush.  Brush the inside of the male blossom (plain blossom) and then brush the inside of the female blossom (blossom on a tiny veggie-looking thing).  I have to go out at 8:00 am to catch the blossoms when they are open.  I feel a bit silly doing it, but we don't have enough bees.
