Why are my dvd's that i burn not very good quality?

they seem fine on my computer but somewhere in the process of there to my dvd player most of the time something seems to go wrong? i'm using an external pioneer dvd re'writer i bout for 30 quid on ebay, nero7 for the encoding and burning and sony -r discs. I'm pretty sure my dvd player is compatible because its fine with other -r dics that have been recorded on, just not the ones i do

  1. well since your probably using lower quality programs and disc it'll do that.

  3. You may try other DVD burning software, I always use movavi video sutie to burn DVD, the quality is good

  4. Most movies are double layer, and you are burning to a single layer. To compensate, the computer is lowering the quality to make it fit.

  5. Make sure you use full picture resolution (720x480 or higher)

    Make sure your bit rate is high enough (about 6 Mbits/s).

    Because you watch them in a smaller window on your PC you don't see the artifacts.
