Why are my ears hot...?

This evening, my ears have gotten really red and hot. I tried putting ice on them, but it didn't really help. Why are they hot? I am just starting my first day of highschool tomorrow..so could it be nerves?

This exact same thing happened to me! It went away as soon as I started highschool. My mom said that it was nerves. So does the doctor.
