My eyes are quite red. I use eye drops and it still won't go away. It does not hurt or itch at all, its just red. The white area around the pupil is blotted with blood vessels. I wear contact lenses but not a lot. I use the daily kind and replace them each day. I tried not wearing contacts for a few days and my eyes are still red. Its not too bad on the front part of the eye but when i look sideways there is more redness. What do i do?

  1. When I smoke all day, that's what happens to me as well........

  2. were you drinking, do you have allergies,.

  3. Have you been doing any kind of heavy lifting in the past few days? Sometimes when you lift something heavy, you can pop a blood vessel in the eye and that causes it to turn red without any pain or irritation. I know it sounds weird, but I work for an eye doctor and I've seen it happen. If you are not having any other problems (like pain, discharge, or vision changes), it's not that big a deal. Try to lay off the contacts for at least a week and it should go away. If it doesn't, call your eye doctor...it might be something else.

  4. my allergies primarily affect my eyes. they get red around the lids. you dont have to have other symptoms of allergies for them to be the cause of your bloodshot eyes. sometimes pressure will cause the blood vessels to burst. when this happens there is no pain or itching, just redness. but that would likely be exclusive to one small area of the eye. do not wear your contacts until this clears up. you should see your optometrist. there is probably an easy fix.

  5. If you uses drugs they giet blood shot, allergys got any of thoes, contacts could iratate the eye, just put some water in it and just flush the stuff outa it it may help ive had that before it hurts so bad  but when i rub it it feels better when i stop rubbing it hurts worse, or your eyes are just like that

  6. yes

  7. lay off the crack

  8. I had this same thing happen to me. I wore contacts for years and all of a sudden my eyes just got bloodshot red. Luckily I work for an optometrist and what it is is your hormones changed. My changed because I changed birth control, from patch to pill. If any type of hormone changes this can occur. My boss/eyedoctor demanded me not to wear contacts anymore because she could see irritation on my eye. Your cornea becomes inflamed, which is not healthy and if you continue to wear your contacts, your vision will decrease.

Take your contacts out and within 4 days the redness will disappear.

  9. you may have hay fever or just not getting enough sleep
