Why are my eyes so dark, if my skin is so white?

Question

I have black eyes, people always say brown, but mine are BLACK.

The thing that sometimes some people point out is that it is unusual for someone with such fair skin and light hair to be such dark eyes.

I've noticed my eyes color is unusual even among people with dark skin. Most Hispanics and Black people have eyes lighter than mine. Their eyes are usually dark brown, not black.

I was nicknamed SMILEY FACE for a while because I was so white with 2 black dots for eyes.

Why are my eyes so dark??

i'm like you. my eyes are practically black as well. comes with the whole italian package lol. i dont like them too much, but i know alot of guys think it's hot and unique. so embrace your eyes! every time i catch myself being critical about them, i stop and think that 'at least i can see out of them' theyre eyes and theyre doing their job, and that pretty much all anyone should ask for =]

Do you mean that your eyeballs are black? If your eyeball are black that means that one of your parents must have a recessive gene for black eye you might be some percent asian or something. And your eyes are just very very dark brown because it's scientifically impossible to have black eyes!

it's just the way you are, your genes. maybe you had a relative with black eyes.

Skin color and eye color are coded for by totally different genes, so it's a total c**p shoot as to what you will inherit from your ancestry - it's just guaranteed that it will come half from your dad's side and half from your mom's.

When I was younger I had extremely black eyes, just as you described, and white skin.  Now that I'm older my eyes have faded to a brown, and it kind of makes me sad.  I now realize I kind of liked being special.

So enjoy it while you got it  :)

It's just a matter of pigmentation, came from your genes.  Some people in the middle east and asia tend to have REALLY dark eyes, thats all.  Your skin and eyes pigmentation are completely unrelated to each other.
