Question:

Why are my female zucchini flowers not blooming? They were but just stopped AND, male ones are blooming, why?

My zucchini plants WERE producing male and female flowers, I was hand pollinating them even though we have bees "just to be sure" and then all of a sudden, the female buds just started dying WAY before they were mature enough to open. The worst part is that I have tons of nice male flowers. I even got 5 zucchinis off of the plant before the female buds started dying off. I even have one zucchini on the plant right now that looks half dead. By half dead, I mean the end looks like it started to die and then decided not to. So part of it looks great and part of it looks withered. I'm not so concerned with this zuke itself, but with the "proto-zukes" that aren't even trying to bloom. What is happening here? It's happening to all 5 of my plants.

I water almost every day except if it rains and I ferilize every 2 weeks with terra-cycle worm p**p. Everything else (tomatoes, scallions, peppers) is doing fine. HELP!

  1. your plants are lacking super phosphate, for a quick fix mix a handful in a bucket of water and sprinkle round the plants, that's probably all they need

  2. take the flowers and rub them together to cross pollinate them,,,,then you will have more, unless you can introduce more bees in your area to pollinate them.
