Question:

Why are my green beans sticky?

We picked them off our own plant, and they are totally sticky. Is this a sign of some sort of poison bug that's been all over them? There is some sign of bug infestation, but on the beans that look fine & edible, they are sticky. The stickiness doesn't come off when I wash them with water!

  1. sounds like aphids. The suck the sap out of plants and leave a stick residue behind. the beans should be fine to eat. You might have to use a mild soap and good rinse to get it off the beans.
