Why are my ipod nano earphones so quiet compared to other types of headphones?

when i play my ipod it plays songs much quieter even when it is at full volume, but when i use other headphones they are much louder at full volume i want to use my ipod headphones if there any way of fixing this problem?

  1. maybe you are not plugging them in all the way idk maybe they're broken


  2. I noticed this myself,  the only fix is to get another pair of earphones.  When I put in the Apple headphones, then a JVC pair, the JVC's were MUCH LOUDER.  It's just the iPod Headphones.

  3. It depends on what type of headphones your comparing them with. The general iPod headphones have alot of 'open space' between the driver and your ear drum which sound leaks out of, which means you turn up your music more to listen to it at what you accept as a decent volume.

    Most headphones now are the 'in-ear' type. They include a plastic/foam membrane which keeps the sound waves in your ear and means you don't need to turn it up as much. Of course the more you pay for your headphones the better fit and better material you will get for your ears, along with better sound. This is coming from experience as i own a $600 set of Shure headphones.
