I have been keeping Koi carp in my pond for 10yrs and some of the fish have lost there colours. Three years ago i introduced 3 nice Koi costing me £1000 one being a Showa with a big red spot on its head. This has now also lost its colour. Is it because i have been using a cheaper pellet for the last few years, if so how can i get the colour back? many thanks Tony

  1. Koi change color as they mature..I don't believe its the food...you can also put orange slices in their for xtra viamin c if you have to use a cheaper food...the colors may come back on their own ...I sure was as upset as you when I got my first koi babies and they kept changing colors on me!  :0)

  2. the redness is common in losing it if you use cheap food. There are food specialize on colors of koi like sera koi color.
