I thought push-ups were supposed to work your pecs and triceps! Is there something wrong with my form?

  1. While pushups tend to work mainly your pecs and triceps, your body uses or lats and shoulders to stabilize you during the exercise.  It's natural for them to be sore.

Make sure your hands aren't more than about shoulder-width apart, and you want your elbows to stay closer to your body...don't flare them out.

    Good luck!
