Why are my new rats so lazy?

ok i just got 2 new pet blue rats from petsmart 3 days ago they are still babys but i have wanted pets rats for a while so i did a bunch of homework on them read alot and from what i have read they are soupposed to like to play and stuff but all mine want to do is sleep eat and drink they rarely come out of the hide box i put in thire cage i just want to know if this is normal they are males

they might be sleeping. try playing with at night. or tran them to sleep at night and not sleep at the daytime. thats what i did to my rat only in the morniing it sleeps, in the afternoon it doesn't sleep and at night it sleeps.

because u just got them it will take a little while 4 the rats 2 get used 2 u.  give it a little time and in no time they will be out playing like you wanted them 2 do.

males are nore layed back than females... and they are nocturnal. so try playing with them at night and see how they act.

yes this is normal, males are often much lazier than females anyway and also they are probably just getting used to their new surroundings so dont worry

This is completely normal. Rats are nocturnal, so they only come out at night. But in time, they will somewhat adjust to your schedule. They will be ready for you when you wake up, sleep while you're at school/work, and be ready again when you get home. Don't worry. Hope this helps!
