  1. They are dying.  It could be blight, drought, lack of sun, too much sun and heat, lack of iron or nitrogen, or insect damage.  If it was been very sunny where they are, try more water or some shade.  Push down on the soil around the base of the plant and you could also find that voles or moles have heaved the soil and the roots are drying out from air in the soil.  You can add a bit of iron and some fertilizer, but it could be almost anything.  Tell us what parts are yellow and how it is progressing (on each leafe and from what parts of the plant).  It could be so many things - try uploading and linking a picture for us.  We need more information, because so many things cause "yellowing".

  2. Some plants turn yellow (off-color) when they've used up available nitrogen.  They also will do that when they get dry (drought stressed) and/or overwatered (root rot).  So, I would:

    1. Make sure you have a well drained soil and that you allow the soil to somewhat dry-out in between waterings (roots need oxygen too!)

2.If soil moisture seems adequate (and not over-abundant), try some nutrients.  Safeway carries a great product, VF-11, which is a low-analysis fertilizer.  Otherwise, a "half-rate" of Miracle grow will probably do the trick.

3.Pests can be a problem, if you can see them you can treat them, otherwise, soil borne fungus is common, especially under prolongued wet conditions.

    4. The only other problem I could think of is salt build-up in the soil.  Salts are common in most drinking water sources and when we add just a few cups of water to our plants, those salts can build-up in the pots- eventually to destructive levels for roots.   Therefore, its always good to take your plants outside for a good soaking with the hose (multiple waterings) to leach out (remove) these salts and clean the soil.     Follow that up with a little fertilizer and your plants will love you.

Tough to say which category your plant might fall into?????

    Hope that helps

  3. There are dozens of probable causes, under and over watering and under and over everything else. The list fills a book.

  4. What kind of plant is it?

  5. the need iron & proper light for photosythesis

  6. The answers I read are very helpful, but I'm not sure how to determine which one is the one for me.  I have other plants and flowers planted around my Vinca that are turning yellow and are doing fine.  Also, another color of Vinca mixed in are doing fine.  Any ideas?
