Why are my posts showing up on a web search?

Question

I went online and searched a name of someone in my group and all our posts containing that persons name and email address were available to the public. Why? Shouldn't it be private, that's why people have to 'join' the group? I am the owner, please let me know how i can fix this.. thanks!

are you the owner of the group which can change group settings?

management- messages- Posting and Archives (Edit)<-- click the edit- scroll to Archive Options and select members- click save changes

archives that are set to 'anyone' can be found in a web search

once you reset this, it may take time to update those servers to which they wont be found on the web search
