Why are my pumpkins turning orange already. and my tomato's not turning red

  1. The aren't on the same schedule.

    My tomatoes are late this year too.  Spring stayed for a long time, and nights stayed cool even well into June.  Tomatoes need a particular range of nighttime temps in order to set fruit.  unusually cool or hot nights can interrupt that schedule.

    Meanwhile, my winter squashes (pumpkin is one kind) seem to have been utterly unaffected by the cool start to summer, and they're coming along as usual.  Two ready to harvest this week.
