Question:

Why are my quail birds' feathers GONE?!?!?

okay, so the feathers on the wings are still there, but the ones on the top surface of their body is like GONE! should i be worried? is this normal or should i just leave it alone?

  1. its possible it has a plucking disease i forgot wat it was called or molting or fighting


  2. Too many quail and not enough space! If you want to keep them in cages there should be one male per cage and 1-3 females. Any aggresive behaviour should be solved by seperating the aggressor and the victim immediately.

    Cages should be clean, and food and water plentiful to stop fighting.

  3. I presume you have more than one quail, it's because the male holds on to the female with his beak when mating  with the female she tends to struggle if not ready and the feathers get pulled out very normal can make her head bleed if left to happen to often also when males fight they too peck at  each others heads.

  4. even quails are agressive when it comes to there cage they are fihgting for space in the cage if you dont seperate them after they get thru the feathers they will start biting each others skin and make them bleed
