Why are my serpae tetra slowly turning black over time?

I have serpae tetras myself, and i don't see that on mine at all

what i think what's happening here though, is ammonia burn

check your ammonia

if it's not at 0 do a 50% water change right away

and keep doing 25% water changes every other day until you have 0 ammonia

mine is doing the same exact thing! i think it may be aging you know getting older! but idk that was a guess! um i wish i could help, but i just wanted to saythat the same thing is happening to mine!
