I think my sister messed with my stereo system and now the sound is echoing and neither me or her knows how to get rid of it? Would anyone know what setting this is?

  1. Your stereo may have some sort of effect or EQ setting like "hall" or "concert".  There should be a button that allows you to change that to something less annoying.  If you knew the make and model number of the stereo, that would help.

  2. Did you on 3D sound mode like '3D Surround', 'Super Surround' or '3D Mix'? At times most hifi system EQ setting do not really affect the sound since they only changes the sound frequencies setting, so when you set to let say from 'Normal/Natural' to 'DBB', it boosts bass sound, or to 'Hall/Concert', it makes the sound sounds more lively with clearer vocal.

Most likely additional sound setting effects causes these sound echo-lization to happen. They are most likely related to surround settings espcially those that makes 3D effects.
