i got my braces taken off yesterday. the teeth looked great but i have school pictures coming up so i immediately started using crest white strips. they're already working, they're great, but my teeth are SO sensitive. the front teeth on the bottom, and the ones all the way in the back. is it from the strips? the strips don't reach the teeth in the back i don't think, but would the braces off make them so sensitive? this is brutal! haha thanks.

  1. If it's brutal, why are you laughing?

The math doesn't add up.  Overdoing white strips can make your teeth brittle.  Sounds like you figured if one helped, two would be better, three would be even better...let's seee, how many more times can we make these teeth whiter......?

Stop now.  It sounds like you may have permanent damage to your teeth.  And make an appointment with the dentist/

  2. maybe your enamel wore off. idk...go see a dentist.

  3. for one, getting your braces taken off makes your teeth really sore.

secondly, you shouldn't be using the white strips immediatly, you should have waited until your teeth have settled in (and gotten a retainer. since you got it off yesterday im assuming you don't have one yet)

also, whiteners for your teeth make your teeth more sensitive. ALL WHITENERS FOR ALL PEOPLE. not just some cases. that's the result, you get white teeth and sensitive teeth.

  4. Its normal to have sensitivity after braces is taken off. The tooth are not stable yet and part of it are exposed. It will go away for a week. Just use proper toothpaste. Strip may cause sensitivity because of its content. But proper toothpaste will get rid of it.
