  1. Because desp[ite AL GORE"S rants MAN does not control the weather

  2. i believe we're the ones making these storms stronger, considering we're feeding the earth with pollution and oil and all kinds of c**p. Dont blame God for our actions. if God wanted to punish some people he would not put the innocent in his wrath. read the story of Abraham and see why

  3. So insurance companies can avoid paying out.

  4. God does not stop NATURAL disasters. he can only HELP

  5. Convenience of argument. They only talk about things that fit with their agenda. Nothing more than a gross coincidence.

  6. Because ppl have to blame someone.

  7. Natural disasters are only disasters in the eyes of man. Hurricanes, volcanoes, earthquakes, floods and fires have a necessary role in maintaining the dynamics that enable this planet to support life, without them and we all die. It's not always about the people, you know.

  8. They are called acts of god by insurance companies, so those companies can get out of paying off decent people for damage done to themselves or their properties.

God does stop the effects of some disasters, as in Gustav.  Mostly, God lets the deterioration of the planet continue such that mankind will get a taste of h**l and decide he prefers heaven.

  9. Satan's way of blaming God for our problems.

7 Then Jehovah said to Satan: “Where do you come from?” At that Satan answered Jehovah and said: “From roving about in the earth and from walking about in it.” 8 And Jehovah went on to say to Satan: “Have you set your heart upon my servant Job, that there is no one like him in the earth, a man blameless and upright, fearing God and turning aside from bad?” 9 At that Satan answered Jehovah and said: “Is it for nothing that Job has feared God? 10 Have not you yourself put up a hedge about him and about his house and about everything that he has all around? The work of his hands you have blessed, and his livestock itself has spread abroad in the earth. 11 But, for a change, thrust out your hand, please, and touch everything he has [and see] whether he will not curse you to your very face.” 12 Accordingly Jehovah said to Satan: “Look! Everything that he has is in your hand. Only against him himself do not thrust out your hand!” So Satan went out away from the person of Jehovah.

13 Now it came to be the day when his sons and his daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their brother the firstborn. 14 And there came a messenger to Job, and he proceeded to say: “The cattle themselves happened to be plowing and the she-asses were grazing at the side of them 15 when the Sa·be′ans came making a raid and taking them, and the attendants they struck down with the edge of the sword; and I got to escape, only I by myself, to tell you.”

16 While this one was yet speaking that one came and proceeded to say: “The very fire of God fell from the heavens and went blazing among the sheep and the attendants and eating them up; and I got to escape, only I by myself, to tell you.”

17 While that one was yet speaking another one came and proceeded to say: “The Chal·de′ans made up three bands and went dashing against the camels and taking them, and the attendants they struck down with the edge of the sword; and I got to escape, only I by myself, to tell you.”

18 While this other one was yet speaking, still another one came and proceeded to say: “Your sons and your daughters were eating and drinking wine in the house of their brother the firstborn. 19 And, look! there came a great wind from the region of the wilderness, and it went striking the four corners of the house, so that it fell upon the young people and they died. And I got to escape, only I by myself, to tell you.”

(James 1:13) . . .When under trial, let no one say: “I am being tried by God.” For with evil things God cannot be tried nor does he himself try anyone.

It also allows insurance companies an excuse not to pay claims.

  10. they arent, God said natural disasters werent part of the plan.

  11. I think people are comforted believing that there is a God out there who decides where, and when the next hurricane will strike.

Perhaps they believe that if they are good people and pray faithfully and often that this "God" may spare them from a similar fate.

In actuality, hurricanes, tornadoes, floods, fires from lightning, and every other natural disaster, are the results of certain natural conditions that we cannot control.

The very idea that there is nobody, or no "God", in control is frightening to most people.

  12. God hates you.

Natural Disasters are His way of reinforcing this.

  13. Unfortunately that is the term that insurance companies use as

a classification of events that they or we for that matter cannot control.

We want somebody to find fault with, so we choose God Since He is not here on Earth to be subject to law suits, He gets blamed

Yes, God can stop them, He can do ANYTHING He wants. But, because the world is in the state that it is, disobedient to His teachings. These things happen. There are times when it is our fault. Building dams and power plants on top of a fault line for example.

About 80% of the US population lives near to a coast line. It is not nature or God that causes flooding and structural damage. It is just stupidity on the part of the builders.

As the population increases, and cheap materials and over zealous land developers continue to cut costs and break local codes and laws, and disregard environmental impact studies. More flooding, more building collapses and more levies will fall.

Yes, God is punishing us for our transgression of His laws. As time goes on, and we draw closer to the end. Disasters will be common place events.

  14. I don't know. But I'm off to cause my own natural disaster at the men's here at work. I'll be back in 15 minutes.
