Question:

Why are negative opinions cited as jealousy?

When someone says something such as "Ugh, I don't like Zac Efron," or "I dislike Chris Brown's music," they're usually shot down by someone who says "Why? Because he's better than you, richer than you, etc., etc.?!" It's sort of annoying, and I dislike it to a point. How come people can't have an opinion without being dissed for it? Can I just dislike Chris Brown because I think he's too mainstream for me? Can't I dislike Justin Timberlake's music because I listened to it and decided "Hmm...I personally don't prefer this music...I have decided I don't like it." It's sort of unfair that if I turn away from the pack, I'm ravaged and ostracized as a "hater" or a "jealous *****." Dammit, if I don't like it, then I don't like it! Let me express an opinion without being shot at for it!

  1. I feel you. I can't stand Rihanna's music and everybody thinks I'm hatin on her cuz I'm jealous. No, I  just don't like her singing voice or even the songs themselves.
