I saw it on a major news network when they set the curfew.  And if I'm correct it's only in an area where there is rampant violence

There are tons of other important issues, too that go unrecognized...Like states in America where g*y Marriage has been legalized..And the big thing now is the 2008 Summer Olympics. Major news outlets have probably covered the issue, but where are you talking about - all over the US or just in your town? States all over have critical issues that news outlets cover...It doesn't make the one you found less important.
