  1. If you are a single-serving pudding or custard, you will look most classy if you wear a ramekin. Crate and Barrel has some nice understated ones for about $1.50.

  2. It the the Jewish custom for men to cover their heads during religious Services.  The little hat they wear is called a yarmulke.  Out of respect Gentile men should also don one of these hats.

Each branch of Judaism has a different custom about women covering thier heads during religious services, so it's a good idea to have a nice scarf with you just in case.  Follow what the other women do.

Unless custard is being served at the reception, you will generally not find ramekins at any wedding.

  3. It's not a ramekin.  It's called a Yamaha.

  4. Ramekins are little casserole dishes you make custard in so I don't know why they asked you to wear one.

  5. Now that's a wedding I would go to! What are the bride and groom wearing?  Napkin rings? Go and wear the silly hat, just make sure it is a new one, not one that was used by a litany of old and crusty scalps.

  6. Ramekins  ???...........woops !

  7. Ramekins are the little dishes used to bake and serve creme brulee.

I bet you're talking about a yalmeka (sp?).  That's the small skull cap worn by Jewish men.

  8. They're called kippot or yarmulkes.

It's to be worn out of respect. Oh, and only the male needs to wear it.
