  1. Just my personal opinion is the older drivers that have hit the wall a few times like Dale Jr and Jeff Gordon have a certain respect for the wall and like to keep the car straight as possible.

The younger guys (like Kyle Busch) have yet to have their cage rattled and push their cars to the limits getting all slideways. There is an old saying, loose is fast. If you see a COT loose in the rear end that driver  is either up front or headed to the front.

  2. The main reason they are struggling is because when they are driving the c.o.t, they try to think back to how they used to setup the old cars but the old setups don't work with the c.o.t.s. Younger drivers are better at driver the c.o.t.s because that's almost the only car they have drove in there career

  3. because they have all thier experience in the other cars, and they had been with those cars forever, and now that the COT has come along, the new drivers with not as much experience in the old are not having as hard a time getting used to it.

  4. OLD, what age you consider old???

Seems to me that almost every team is struggling in some fashion on the COT..Gibbs has most advantage right now because they did their homework earlier, drank their milk and ate their cookies, went to bed on time....lol

  5. i dont know

  6. there sturggling because, they were on the hang of the old car so long they got used to it, and when the new car came they have to learn a whole new deal

  7. Because their still adapting to this COT !!!

For the last 10years or so?? ...  It's been 1 handed driving !!!

  8. That's all right, i'm still faster with DOS 3.3 than I am with Vista.

Just like with operating systems, the cot makes it necessary to learn an entire new system. The more times a person does that the harder it gets.

  9. I don't think it's 100% fair to say that old drivers are struggling...it's just that the younger drivers are doing better.  The "old" drivers are stuck in their "old" ways, and the young guns are adapting quicker.  Before too long, we'll see these old guys show that they still know how to get things done.

  10. It,s hard to teach an old dog new tricks!!!!

  11. The more experienced are struggling with the transition of driving style.

  12. Jeff Burton is second in points.  Dale Jr is 3rd in points.  They  both have over 5 years in Cup.  When you look at the top-12 in points, only Kyle Busch, Carl Edwards, Denny Hamlin and Clint Bowyer have less than 5 years in Cup.

Jeff Burton's worst finish this year is 12th.  I think that upsets your theory on its own.   The teams that are testing and trying new things are the ones doing well with the COT.  Drivers have little to do with it, IMO.
