  1. Yep. I hate yongs.

  2. because they got brought up differently to younger people (a lot has changed in the last few decades) , + they find it difficult to understand young people.

    (if that makes any sense?)

  3. A yong???  Is that a new cult or something?

  4. They act as a scape goat...

  5. Some old people had terribly hard lives a lot suffered during the world war. When they speak to young people the generation gap will be obvious for them so telling us about how we don't have a clue about history is right because we weren't there and they was and telling us how lucky we are yes we are because we have more freedom and choices, either way when we're that age we're gonna be exactly the same 'in my day you could get 10 cigs for £3, these days there over a tenner!'

  6. theye are arent they!

Yet they expect young people to give some sort of Special treatment towards them?!?

You get what you give comes to mind.....

i think theyre just pisd of at themselves for been so old!

take it out on the young why not??/

  7. maybe its the degrading way you say 'old people' like you are talking about rotten fruit. Or make broad sweeping generalities about how they think about young people. Or dismiss what they do say to you as always boring, repetitive and  a waste of your time to have to sit through. I am middle aged, but I learned many years ago that you get what you give with all people, no matter what age. But you get a lot more from older folks. Listen and learn. You have the luxury of plenty of time.

  8. because they're jealous the young have a whole life ahead of them, while they may be wallowing in self-pity in the final years on how their lives turned out!

  9. young people do not show respect to their elders as they should.

  10. Well, I guess I am considered one of those old people, relatively speaking; but I am not prejudiced towards young people.  I enjoy talking to young people and getting their fresh viewpoint on matters, and I never say demeaning things like, "don't have a clue about history or don't know how lucky....."  I am really quite intrigued by how intelligent and aware young people are these days.  I think it must be the computer age that has developed those brain cells that went dead in the older generation.  Oh, and I know that the younger generation will take over some day, and it would behoove the older generation to behave respectfully towards those who will someday be in charge.

  11. Because we remember how it used to be when we were young and are jealous as h**l we are no longer young.

Ageism is the only prejudice where the perpetrator turns into the victim--- we all get old but we do not all change colour or s*x.

I'll See You When You Get There.

  12. Now look here buster, You just wait till I get off this porch, or was that a swing h**l I don't know! !I remember when I don't remember! Go ahead and now you have been traumatized by the old age syndrome, there is no cure! The young people get worried and think this old age phenomena will rub off on them and they'll get a complex and be embarrassed in front of their friends, or buddies or guests or what are them creatures? maybe the older people think that youth and all its wasted energy just to get to an adult status is so long gone their lives are ruined! Well there maybe a lot of wasted time while being young, the only problem is the older can't remember when they were at your age.

  13. are we,,,

  14. Yong? Is that like a religion?

  15. Because we are "ignorant". Hurrah!

  16. It's a care thing. They're just troubled by the fact some of you can't spell. There's a really easy way out. Hope you find it.

  17. I guess it happens with every generation.

I bet our grandparents didn't know how easy they had it when they were young, according to their grandparents.

I bet our grandchildren will hear the same, too

"In my day, we didn't have these flying cars! You don't know how lucky you are!"

  18. Its because time has changed so much from when they was young. They just cant get their head around it :)

  19. Because for the most part, we don't have a clue about history, and take a lot of things for granted.  We will be the same way when we get old, only we are gonna have tattoos. lol

  20. I don't know - I think some older people came from a society with different communications patterns - My friends mother is in her nineties and they seem to have communicated entirely through automatic responses about the weather and conversations based around - 'isnt it awful?'

I think it actually means nothing just a lot of vaccuous talking to be sociable.

I think if you scratch a little bit under the surface you might find they are just stuck in conversation grooves rather than really thinking these things.

Prejudice is a facet of fear - Have you tried talking to one f them and trying to understand what they are really on about  underneath the shorthand?

  21. i know, old people don't show respect for younger people but excpect respect, they think they can get away with murder but all i can say is..... times have changed show me respect and i will show it to you, and you's are meant to be the adults.... not us, so stop acting like children.

  22. envious of youth?

  23. Are the yongs some sort of undiscovered tribe of people in mongolia or china? hahaha

  24. It is not prejudice...it is disappointment.

Older people look at younger people and can't believe that they don't want to not know or understand anything.  When you get older...these are ALL you want!
