I mean seriously they act like they are a second, third, fourth, and fifth dad to me. Why are brothers so overprotective? I mean when it comes to dating forget it they want to kill any guy who flirts with me. Why are older brothers/ brothers in general so protective ?

  1. my brother is exactly the same - - and i never know why..

    i honestly dont know!

    x

  2. they just are i have 5brothers and i felt like i had body guards with me everywhere i went in school i was like dam get some business dude can i breathe cause you crowding me and still to this day its the same a lil more space now that im older but they still will put their foot in a guys *** for me

  3. Im the youngest in my family and i dont want my sisters to get hurt. Im fifteen and my oldest sister is 23. if her boyfriend treats her bad i would probably go to jail for some things i would do. Its just i dont want to see them hurt.

  4. Love.

However, being a threatening presence to anyone who'd like to date you isn't good.  That can lead to a lot of family garbage down the line and division that nobody needs.

  5. Because they have big balls.

  6. Yeah, sometimes you just have to go for it.

  7. I guess they really care. I have a older bro and he says the same thing. He even talked to one of my friend boys. Ugh

  8. my brother is so protective because my dad moved out and now i think he feels the need to be the man of the house

it doesn't bother me so much anymore though

  9. It's all about upbringing, and early childhood training by his parents.  My older brother was trained to be strong, top-sargent, the boss, in charge, out front, on top of things, the leader, etc. by our parents and I was trained to be passive, weak, submissive, less-than, ignorant, a follower, etc. by our parents.

This was not formal training, just causual, day to day, indirect, subtle conditioning which occured over several years when we were both very little.

If you take a good, close look at all the little things that went into how you were raised and how the older brother was raised, you will see how it all came about during the first 5-7 years of your life.

It's all about parental programing and conditioning......you'll see!

  10.   Well CC i believe they feel the need to protect you cause being guys they know how guys think, and wanting  to score with a girl is high on their list.

So of course it is ok for your brothers to have s*x with anybody, but they don't want any  guy having s*x with their  sister, that is really the main reason they act that way.

See the double standard  still exists if a guy has a few girls he is called a Stud,if a girl   has a few guys, she is labelled a s**t.

Tell them what i typed, also mention if your on the pill and old enough to date to lay off, or they too can go without s*x, see how  the shoe fits so to speak on the other foot.

so it is 90% not wanting you to have any s*x, and 10% real concern for their sister.

  11. i have no idea

my brother told me i can get married but i cant date!!!

    i completely understand u!!!

he wont add me on myspace becuz he doesnt want any of hes friend to see me!!! becuz on some slight chance his friends might like me n he nos how a boys mind works so he doesnt want to fight any of his friends!!!!!!!!!!

  14. i know how you feel and im about to have twins and i dont think i want to tell my bir brother.

but sweaty they are over protective cuz they love you and they dont want to see you get hurt in any way shape or form.

  15. hahahahhaha,because u are younger,and they feel u need to protect

  16. cause they looooooove  you

  17. Because there are so many perverts these days and they worry

  18. This is mostly your parents doings.. Seriously.  Your mom and dad put pressure on him from an early age to look after you.  Don't leave your toys out, she'll get hurt.  Help her up the slide...  And so on and so forth...

  19. It is called love. They love you and want you safe, because they know what is on the mind of all males when it comes to women.   Be glad they want  to protect you , just let them know you will be careful and do your best to be safe. And you  will let them know when you need help.  Let them know you appreciate their concern, some brothers like mine did more harm than good.Wish mine had of been protective , you are a lucky girl.

  20. I'm not really sure..either.. I just get pissed off when my friends start hitting on my sis.

  21. I am currently the oldest sibling in the family, and I have 3 younger brothers and 2 younger sisters all 16 and under...

I don't think I am overprotective, but perhaps I say this or that because I've had my own experience or I believe I know more about the issue than you think - You should be glad!

    Now get back to bed

(Just kidding, sorry for being so naive)
