Why are only the teens who get pregnant called the 'S' word?

Question

I was thinking of this during the whole Jamie Spears hype.

Teens [generally] practically brag about how much s*x they've had, yet if one unfortunate teens ends up getting pregnant, she essentially becomes the 'bad' one. There was a pregnant teen at my high school a few years back and ironically the girls who did the bragging were talking junk behind her back.

Does anyone else see the contradiction here?!

i completely agree with you.

it is hard enough being a teen without being labeled a s**t for one mistake that was made.

also i think that a lot of people blame it on just the girl and forget that it takes two to make a baby. the guy gets off very lightly.

Girls are always looked at with more of a stern eye then guys, it's not right, but it's true. I guess people assume that if a girl gets pregnant it's because she is sleeping around with a bunch of men. People don't stop and think that a girl can get pregnant even if she's having safe (monogamous) s*x with her boyfriend, who may then dump her after he finds out she is knocked up.

You are right.  However, the proof shows in the ones who get pregnant....no denying what THEY were up to.  It's hard to deny being sexually active when you have a baby growing inside you.

I advocate abstinance...if you can't afford a baby, don't be having s*x, because no birth control is 100%.  I waited to have s*x until I was 21, and it was a smart choice.  No labels, and no unwanted teen pregnancy.

Because in 2008 no one should be getting pregnant if they are careful, and a teen shouldn't be having s*x.

Teens who get pregnant are not the only ones called Sl**. I know many adult women, wha have had children, and/or pregnant, or do not even have children that are called that.

While it is unfortunate that many groups brag about their exploits then turn around and label another person who is equal or even better than them, it happens in all circles.

Some cultures view virginity as a good thing, some do not. But whatever the case, gossip and judgement can be found anywhere there are more than two people.  Sad but true.

Because thats how high schoolers are. I'm in high school and what i've find out about most of my friends. Is if you have everyone talking about someone else their not talking about you. So basically if their having s*x, but someone else got caught. That means that if the one girl gets everyone so wrapped up in the pregnant girls life then no one is spreading rumors about her.

I know what you mean.

In high school, there were a few girls who were pregnant.  My "friends" said bad things about them, so I said "wait girls, we're just as guilty as they are".  Even if you've had s*x 1 time, even if you used protection (the ones who were pregnant very well could have used protection) you're just as 'guilty'.

well when i left school alot of people my age were pregant 18 but me persanly i wouldnt call them slu*s but unless they really wanted one i think there silly but your right it takes 2 to have one it the girls that get it all never the boys i dont think that right

i think its more of a haha you got caught its a visual representation that they do the dirty deed (just saying)
