Question:

Why are our wages the very last thing to be raised?

I've worked long enough to see this a couple of times. Gasoline, food, housing, everything goes up in price, but U.S. wages stay the same. Too many people are going broke and losing their homes. Too many are losing their good paying jobs and have to take poorer paying ones because that's all that can be found. What is wrong with our politicians? Why can they not see how Americans are falling apart? I'm frightened that they will not see until the whole country begins to collapse around their heads. What then? Twill be too late, then.

  1. Actually the politicians give themselves raises when ever they want.

  2. Twas ever the way my dear, nothing changes.

  3. The only people making any money these days are investors.  Those who were formerly millionaires are now billionaires while the people upon whose backs the companies are built are loosing ground.  Without a middle class, who is going to buy the products?  Things are way out of balance now.  The same thing happened during the Reagan administration.  Its a Republican policy to make the rich richer figuring that it supplies jobs for those who don't invest.  The trouble is, people have to work several jobs to exist in many cases.

  4. I don't work for politicians. They don't sign my paycheck. My employer does. He exists to make money for people who invested in his company, not to provide people with wages. What you get paid is what you are worth to him, if you think you are worth more, ask your boss for a raise, or go work someplace else.
