Why are our women gymnasts in the individual event, wearing non team leotards?

im pretty sure that shawn was wearing the team leotard....but its an individual competition. the chinese girls werent wearing what they wore in the team competition

Because this is an individual event and not a team event. They get to choose their own leotard. They only make one team leotard for each team event and doesn't want to wear it again.

the pink leotard is an official usa leotard that the team wore in the prelim competition.
