  1. They probably aren't really jollier, but have to overcompensate for their appearance through personality.


  2. They follow Santa as a role-mode.

  3. Because when they laugh the body giggles for a while after they have finished laughing giving them the appearance of being jolly.

  4. That's just another myth ... do you really know a bunch of fat happy people .  The overweight people I've known have all wanted to be thin.
