Why are particular animals used by the Nth American Indians?

  1. Why do I drive a Ford motor car?  Because I want to, my preference.  So the Indians like particular animals and they use those animals. Maybe it's to do with their belief system.

  3. The tribes of the Southwest mostly raise sheep.  I'm not sure about other tribes of North America.  

    It should be noted that much of the domesticated livestock in the Americas is not native but was introduced here by the Spanish and other European settlers.  This includes horses, cattle and domesticated sheep.
