Why are people Mad at the Puerto Rican News Article over the Margarito Steriods question?

The Puerto Rican News article was defending Margarito and clearly pointing out that there was no proof that Margarito was using any illegal substance. That there would be testing as is done in all fights and that people should wait until the test results are in before passing judgement. So why are people blaming the PR News Article?

FYI, the source of the question about Margarito possible using an illegal substance came up when a caller on a sports Radio show made the comment that the way Margarito took those shots and never lost his stamina reminded him of a fighter using an illegal performance enhancing drug. As in the James Toney and Shane Mosley incidents. Both were found to be using illegal substances. The comment was not out of line and based on Margaritos super human ability to take punishment and never lose his stamina something most people would question.

I'm a fan of both fighters, Margarito through out his career has been known for 2 things, "chin and stamina", these rumors have only been heard and seen in a few forums and a few PR news articles and shows.  From what I know of the substance mentioned in the rumor, it does not increase your ability to take a punch, ex. Vargas vs De La Hoya, Margarito physique looked the same as it always has, where as with Vargas he was extremely ripped and muscular compared to his previous prefight physique.  Nevada is known for it's illegal substance testing, we will know for sure in about another week if those rumors are true.  I don't believe they are.

The reason the Puerto Rican press is being criticized is because they are either instigating the rumor or passing it along. This is a major violation of journalistic integrity. For example, by saying in the press "No, Margarito did not take steroids" without any valid foundation, they the press are adding to the rumor. Then morons like you run around saying something stupid like "there was something in the paper about Margarito and steroids" and your equally dumb friend spreads it. Then the puerto rican press defends itself by saying, " we said he did not take steroids" but by then the damage has been done.

Ruddiger, get a life, once again, both Cotto and Margarito had to lose weight to make the fight. You're a dumb sh*# for beileving  Cotto was at 147 fight night. Also, the Nevada State Athletic Commission checks all supplies brought in by corner for fight, what do you think those guys in the maroon blazers are there for?

THE REASON PEOPLE ARE MAD IS BECAUSE PEOPLE IN PUERTO CANT READ.. THEY SEE MARGARITO AND STEROIDS IN THE SAME SENTENCE AND AUTOMATICALLY THINK HE USED STEROIDS... THIS PEOPLE ARE SO FREAKING IGNORANT IF COTTO WANTED TO REALLY HURT MARGARITO HE WOULD OF GONE FOR HIS SPECIAL PUNCH, HIS HOOK TO THE BODY AND STAYED OF THE ROPES. EVERYONE WHO EVER WATCH ONE OF MARGARITO FIGHTS KNEW THAT HE HAS A STRONG CHIN.. MEANING HE CAN EASILY TAKE PUNCHES IN THE FACE. BY NOW ESPN, FOX SPORTS ETC. WOULD CAME OUT WITH THE NEWS ABOUT MARGARITO STEROID ABUSE.. AND THE STUPID GUY SAYING THERE WAS SOMETHING ON HIS GATORADE BOTTLE SHUT THE F UP UR JUST ANOTHER IGNORANT PERSON. When Vargas was fighting he was not allowed to even have Gatorade in his corner. And it is true that there is a few performance enhancers that are not detected in the standard test the fighters go through.

What helped Margarito take those shots for so long was the fact that he looked about 20 lbs over the weight limit. He must have dehydrated prior to the weigh in to make weight then put the water back in him over night. Very unsportsman like.

They certainly had two bottles in his corner, a water bottle and another bottle, so what was in the other bottle. People have every right to point that out and ask questions.

Vargas couldn't have Gatorade so what the h**l was in Margarito's second bottle?

There have been plenty of fighters that have been taking enhancers and have not tested positive and were only found out because someone ratted them out.

Those shots weren't hard?? yea I guess Margaritos face was smashing around like that because he likes to head bang. Obviously you have not seen Cotto fight before. And I did see the fight twice ,the punches would be devastating if they were landing on a welterweight but Margarito was middleweight. I can see now why guys would not fight him, because he is not a welterweight.

I give Margarito credit for getting the win, but It will be tainted for me because of the weight issue. Ive seen Margarito in the ring before but when I seen him and Cotto together I was shocked at how he dwarfed Cotto. And anybody whos been around boxing long enough could look at Margarito and tell he was way over 147, he was more like 165 to 170.

Id like to see Margarito step up in weight, abandon the welterweight and fight at middleweight, see how he deals with guys his own size and bigger. He's not much about style

the punches that were landing on margarito were not HARD punches to cause major damage like a knockout, did u not watch the fight, they even said that and they also added that that is the reason no body wanted to fight margarito cause he keeps coming after u, his stamina is not caused by an illegal substance or else they would have found he was taking something a long time ago
