I find these answers very offensive.

If you don't want to go to Jamaican then don't go there. I'm tired of people thinking that we'll steal there money, and they'll say that there is alot of crime there.

NO WHERE IN THE WORLD IS SAFE!!!

When i went to America i see drug dealers, poor people, dirty roads etc. Hotels that are nasty that hasn't been clean for months (my source inside edition), and the same thing goes for other countries. My friends and relatives have been to chinese restaraunts and the same rag that they use to cook food and wipe the counters they bathe with them. How do we know? Well, one of the doors for the kitchen was left. open I've watch the news a few months ago and it shows that they were cooking up card board for people to eat and they soak the card boards with vinegar and the noodles that they cook are nasty because the dogs were playing in it

  1. Because if you people were crazy enough to try to shoot Jimmy Buffett out of the air... I don't want to come anywhere NEAR that crazy island.

  2. What id like to know is if they have ever been happy in there own country.. they are just cronic complainers.. everyone has bad vacations but that doesnt mean they went to bad countries where the people in general are bad!!

I got my stuff stolen in belgium, saw rats in amsterdam.. got stalked in france and encountered racism in the UK... i have been cursed in germany.... laughed in the USA and snobbed in curacoa....

And trust me apart from these negative incidents... I have had great vacations in all these places !!

I have never had any of this happen to me in my country Jamaica!!

I bet the persons who complain gripe about there life on a daily basis

  3. Jamaica is a paradise.I have been travelling there since a child.I love that place.I have met some of the nicest people on that small island.Crime is everywhere in the world.I love everything about Jamaica and hope to settle there soon.GO JAMAICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. Id love to live in Jamaica - any place that is able to produce the likes of a prophet such as Mr Bob Marley is heaven sent.

    You rock Jamaica.

  5. I have no idea why people think that Jamaicans are less than others. They act as if the place is full of monkeys, cavemen and criminals. Well i've got news for you people. Jamaica is a very beautiful and civilized island with some of the best and friendliest people you will ever find in this world. People here who live close to each other actually know each other. If your car breaks down or runs out of gas you can be sure that a fellow Jamaican who doesn't even know you will help you. Get the drift? Yes there is violence here but show me a country that is totally violence free. Jamaica can't be compared to America when it comes to homeless people or drug dealers.

People don't have to come to Jamaica if they don't want to but please keep your nasty rumors about my country to yourselves ok (especially if you've never been here).

  6. I have seen many questions/answers with negative thoughts about Jamaica/ns  and I just get so frustrated as well.

I have been to Jamaica twice and had nothing but the most pleasant experience.  The 1st time was w/a huge group of friends, the 2nd with my two boys ages 2 &  7.

When ppl start that c**p of negative talk about Jamaica I say do you think I would take my children if it was like that?

As if I couldn't respect Jamaicans already for their very cool, mellow, easy living type of living.  I respected them even more after I took my children and how they treated and interacted w/my children.  Showing what I already knew Jamaicans have high regard for family and kids and that is just a testament to the kind type of ppl they are. (one of those  values that is slipping here (America) the most important taking care and instilling values/responsibilities in our kids)

I say for all the idiot answers or negative times ppl comment on yahoo answers...consider the source.  These ppl probably could go to heaven and find something to complain about.  I think to they may just be scared of the lifestyle the 'no problem' way of thinking is a problem to them. Because there @-holes. And to those ppl that say that they keep trying to sell them ganga,  they were probably doing you a favor...they were telling you to relax and you need it ganga!

ps your country is small but so big at the same time!  We drove for hours and there was just so much more to see that you can't see it all in one visit!

  7. it makes sense for anyone to be afraid of traveling and it's true, it's not safe anywhere

that's why people ask for specific details to stay safe

plus, try to remember that there are very ignorant people  out there

  8. jamacan girls are s**y

  9. I totally agree with you.

Nowhere in the world is perfect. People need to stop being so hypocritical.

Most of the people who make these negative comments about Jamaica live in areas that are no better off economically or socially than Jamaica is.

  10. For such a small country WE MATTER ALOT.

Do you know how many towns/cities in America are bigger than Jamaica? both in size and population? You probably hardly hear of them. If you watch network news you will hear MORE about jamaica and jamaicans than about other places. You watch news and hardly even realize how many people doing big things in the world are JAMAICAN by birth or parentage. Take out the guinness book of records. You would be SHOCKED to know how many Jamaicans have graced thier pages.

They are scared that jamaicans don't live in huts like they wish we would. They are scared that jamaicans have (U.S. manufactured) used cars and guns and TVs, and environmentally UNSAFE food containers to litter the place. They are scared that in deep ghettos of jamaica, young men (who prey on other locals but would never toush a tourist) have learned how to do drive-by shootings just like they see on TV/CABLE/MOVIES in so many cities of the U.S.A.

They are scared that we have brains and USE THEM TO THE FULLEST when we get the chance. They are too scared to realize that the words of Bob Marley are heard and respected in EVERY country that is a friend of U.S.A. and ALSO by the USA's enemies. We have strength in EVERY facet of life that we venture into.

I CANNOT stop silly people from talking negative stuff about jamaica, but the truth is some of these people think that jamaica, trinidad and curacao are within driving distance of each other.

DO you know what its like to be in a car accident in the U.S.A. and nobody stops to help you because they are afraid to get sued? That willl NEVER happen in Jamaica. For every BAD person in Jamaica there are thousands of Jamaicans who will help you if they don't have a DIME in thier pocket and you dont have a dime to give them.

Perhaps one day the SILLY and IGNORANT people will decide to learn more about the realities that make a country of 3 million people so powerful in a world of 6 billion.

  11. I agree with you and most of the answers here, completely.

Just wondering, about creoque-whatever-his-name-is comment " shoot down Jimmy Buffet out of the air" c**p: Dude , what the h**l are you talking about? That sounds like what the U.S. would do, seriously.

  12. did you know that most of these people who ask these question, ill-treat, disrespect or abuse someone who is not from their country before, now that they leaving their "safe zone" they are afraid that they will be treated like-wise, some think that because they're entering a poorer country they should be treated like kings and queens, there is no racism or partiality in Jamaica, if one shows respect one will be treated with respect and love, there are hustlers in every country, one must be careful in everything, just be wise and careful. One Love.

  13. I agree with you that people should not be afraid of Jamaicans.  I think people just need to be cautious where ever you travel.   There are always a few people that want to take advantage of tourists, no matter where you go.  Awful things happen in every country in the world.

I personally love Jamaica.  I went for my first time last year and I'm going back next month!  I did stay on a resort, but everyone was so nice.  We had some good conversations with the people that worked their about the culture.  It was great!  The only thing that I wish I knew more about was the language Jamaicans speak!  I know it's not completely different, just cutting and pasting.  Is there a website that can teach me more about it?

    Any way...I love Jamaica!!!!

  14. america is a paranoid nation. i think its how our news makes others seem... they only report the crime.. no good stuff.. same goes with most of the world.. most the news about other countries is only when bad stuff happens.

americans are generally, ignorant to the rest of the world. i know cause i lived in japan, and the news there was international.. here in the U.S. it is focused on national/local news, and only when scary things happen in other countries we hear about it.. news is about ratings here.

on a positive note, i love jamaica. greatest vacation spot, and sweetest people.
