Um, I'm afraid of pain. Not actually death. So I avoid danger because I fear pain, not Mr. Reaper.

  1. People are sometimes scared of what they don't know, and no one really knows what happens when they die.

  2. There are not a lot of answers about what happens after you die..... As a matter of fact all people know about death is what other people that are alive tells them.............................. And the selfishness of man-kind say hold on to what you have because when you die it all goes away... Which can not be proven until you die..........

  3. im not afraid of death im afraid of dying.  i don't mind pain (like i've broken two bones and never cried or anything, i was just annoyed that i couldn't write - finger - or walk - foot)

i guess it's because they can't control it?  i've given up controlling my life, but some people want to have complete control over everything that happens to them or that they do and death takes that away.

  4. ya, why are people fixated on one second of experience.?

    makes no sence.

  5. People don't like pain and what not.  But mostly people are afraid of the unknown after death.  For thousands of years, people always thought that the afterlife existed with a good side (heaven), bad side (h**l), or something else like staying here on Earth.  This is what people are afraid of experiencing.  The other option is that there is no afterlife and that's in our heads.

  6. because if they werent, they would all be satanic like me.

  7. In the words of Charles Lee Ray (the Chucky doll), "Death is easy, but dying a bi***."

And it's true. Dying and death are both natural parts of life that happen to everyone eventually. Anything living must die, and anything that dies must have once been living. It is a rule we all live by, and should not fear since it is a requirement of life that everyone embraces. It's silly to get everyone together in a mass panic to fear something that is inevitable. It's not really that painful, I mean, a lot of time time death is quite peaceful, your body relaxes, and the whole "not breathing" thing really feels relaxing right at the state of soul-body separation. It's no big. Honestly.

But the "dying" process... terribly painful, nauseating, and such. At least, most of the time.

  8. Very simple, the fear the unknown. But if you are at peace with your beliefs and yourself, then you no longer fear it. I have always been taught this and have passed this onto my children. I don't fear the pain, there is no pain when you can accept this happens to all living things.  At my home, death is not feared, it is just the next step into the cycle of life.

  9. maybe because they can't do anything to stop it.

  10. It's different for everyone, but I think that the main reason is they're afraid of just darkness. Not being able to think, see, or anything! HAve you ever meditated so deeply, you just feel like you're dead? It's happened to me! I just stopped thinking, feeling, seeing, hearing, or anything! Scariest thing ever!

  11. i'm afraid

  12. Human nature is to fear what they do not understand. No one understands death.

  13. because they are not sure if it is truly the end or not, how scary is it to fall asleep and never wake up again, never see the smiling faces of your loved ones again, that is probably the biggest fear

  14. Are they?  Could it be because they want to leave their millions to their bank manager or with their unfaithful spouse?  I don't know the answer but I am not afraid at all.

  15. i am soooo scared of death...have you ever thought about it? like wen we die we dont know what happens to us!...like if there is nothing after this life we will be lying dead for the rest of eternity...billions&billions of years!!... i am catholic and i believe in heaven etc...but its faith we dont know if it is actually true but i like to believe it is! =)

i cant imagine how old people can cope knowing they could die any minute

  16. Because they don't know if it is really the end.

They don't know what is going to happen. They don't know if they are going to be sent to heaven or h**l, if they just cease to exist, if there is some form of the afterlife that is going to happen to them that they just don't know about yet. They don't know what is going on and they can't stop it.

  17. It is the only thing that is completely unknown to humans and there is no way of proving or finding out what happens.  And heck, most people just like livin.

  18. I think that it is a fearof the unknown. It isn't known what happens to you when you die, so people are afraid of it, because they don't know what it is going to be like. Also, they may be afraid and scared of leaving everything they know behind - it is a rational fear!

  19. I'm not Afraid of Death, I like to believe that the time will come and you can't stop it, its a fact of life and fearing it or not fearing it will not effect its eventual arrival, well that's what my friend told me, but we were pretty wasted back then.

  20. I once asked a woman I knew

    (who has since passed

    from this life)

if she were afraid of death.

    She answered:

"No, I'm not afraid of death-

but it's the dying part to get

to the death- that's the part

    i don't want to do."

What most people don't seem to

    understand is that 'dying'

    and 'death' are 2 entirely

    different things.

  21. cause they haven't lived enough yet.

  22. Not all are--I'm looking forward to it myself.  Ppl are afraid of the unknown.

  23. Because we evolved that way - if we didn't have a fear of death, we wouldn't avoid danger, and we would have gone extinct.

  24. people are afraid of leaving behind things they love. such as humans. They are also afraid of death because they fear they will die from something painful. If you live your life well, you can die peacefully from old age.
