  1. Sorry I really don't understand, if I believed the person liked me and I asked her to be my g/f, and she said no. Then my next question would be, WHY NOT ?

Could be she wants you to pursue her, just wants to see how much you really want her.

She is the only one that can answer your question.

  2. it is one of two things...either you got the signal wrong or she doesn't know what she wants....

  3. Maybe.. rather than being afraid of happiness, she's afraid of the adverse effect of it. Which is getting hurt if it didn't end up working out between the both of you.

Also she might like to know and be assured that you really like her instead of simply agreeing to be someone's girlfriend just because she likes them but has no idea if that someone likes her back.

  4. what was the reason she gave you?

  5. She may just be playing hard to get. Some people do that. Also, she may be afraid of loss. Sometimes people are afraid that they'll lose again, if they've lost before. Loss hurts, so to keep from hurting they build a wall around themselves and don't let anyone in, or  they find ways to protect themselves from situations that caused them pain in the past. Example: I used to have a dog. His name was Jingles, and I loved him very much. Someone came up into our yard and hit him with a car and killed  him. It took me years to consider having another dog. I now have Coco. I was about  13 when I lost my first dog, and I'm 56 now. I would just be available for awhile for her. However, if after a few months she still doesn't respond to your advances, it would probably be best to move on.
