I mean, like they are waiting for it to get really good or something, which, you can only feel by being in the now. All that's going to happen is that they are going to die, where's the 'slow down and enjoy being alive'?

  1. In order to expedite the mundane.

  2. I think it is because of the false excitement that advertising brings about - Peopel are addicted to the semblance of life that rushing around gives.

Addictions are never satisfied becaue they are scratching some place beyond the itch.

i think it also comes from operant conditioning - soemtiems in the rush  you do hit the jackpot and get some good result so carry on with the same behaviour even if intelligence teel you to slow down because your mind has been hooked.

I think most of humanity owes its soul to capitalism.

So they run when the zeitgeist clicks its fingers!

Especially when by dropping out you are seen as a sad loser.

  3. We are all in too much of a rush these days - we drive faster, we eat fast food, we watch sound bites, we want everything ready for immediate consumption.

We are overworked, underpaid, living from pay cheque to pay cheque, nothing left to put away for a rainy day.   We think if we run fast enough and pound hard enough we will get ahead.

We have forgotten how to slow down, savour the moment, listen to our spouses and kids and realize what is really important.  Sadly, it takes something catastrophic like our health or a death to make us come to a complete halt and ask the important questions.

  4. we live in a modernised world, life is busy for anyone that wants to lead a good one. ironic, isn't it? that the people trying to lead happy lives are the unhappiest of all.

  5. We do not have to be  , people just are less considerate of others , and do not have time to say excuse me , open the door for you or let someone over in a lane. Take one second to do that , then we would have less road wage , or fist up when the department door slams in your face , because some one was to rude leave the door open as we leave, and come on people when some one says hello say hello , no one is better then anyone else.
