Why are people ashamed of who they are?

People out there hate their race, height, weight ect..... I don't get it. Is it because of something you have done, or has someone in your race angered you? It does not make any sense to hate how you are because of something someone else has done.

  1. if its about race then from experiance they note that people of anpther race are treated better than another ont. ex. some black people feel that life would be easier if they were white.

Weight, the media potrays an image that skinny is the 'it' thing. if you;re not skinny you're not preety. all hollywood conveys to the poeple is that skinny = beautiful. Also in our society skinner people tend to be regarded at pretty than chubby/fat/ people with more weight.

  2. Because they have been torn down to the point they believe what people are saying, or they just don't have the self esteem to admit they are beautiful. Yeah, I saw once on the Tyra show this man who was black (and had very ethnic features) hated black people and thought that all whites were superior to him. He was g*y and did not feel accepted by his own race. Tyra made him "white" for a day. You should have seen his attitude and how it changed. He was so happy and did not want to change back. Now it was obvious that he was still black even with all the white paint, but for some reason it was so enstilled in him that he would look feel and succeed better with white skin that he became a totally different person for that day. I wanted to cry.

Now I am black, but I think I also have a little self-hatred as well so I can't judge. I can't stand my pale skin. I wish I were darker and didn't talk "white", but I'm learning to embrace that.

  3. Pride and the opposite are just tools for racists to control you, and the way you act.

Its a flase belief that gives charasmatic people percieved power, and they love that. These leaders of racist hate groups are no different than the everyday people who claim to be equality, yet take pride in their color or heritage.

We are all one race, the idea that we arent is taught as a way to control you, and dominate the ones who they -tell you- are different.

"Together we stand, divided we fall" - it goes both ways.

  4. Sucks for them.  I don't hate myself.  I embrace my "blackness" and overcome anything that's thrown at me.  Especially when people "hate" on me.  It makes me stronger, more confident, and more obnoxious.  lol

We are a strong race b/c there's nothing really left to do to us that we haven't already experienced.  We're still standing, though.  Not racist, just proud of myself and what we've accomplished.  No one should be ashamed of themselves.

  5. because they dont have someone to airbrush out all their flaws and cant realize that its not hating other people of your self that will make them its showing love and doing your best to help spread the joy.

how many people have made someone smile today that wasn't at someone else's expense?
