When people bid on ebay they pay outlandish prices for the item's when you can find them other places for cheaper prices. Is it because people don't like losing?

  1. Smart shoppers save money on EBay.  Know the retail cost of what you are bidding on and make sure the shipping costs are reasonable.  I've gotten many many good buys.

  2. As a Buyer you make a decision to buy once you Hit that Bid Now Button...I personally do a lot of research on many sites before commit to buy....Is true you can find a lot of better deals on other sites.

  3. Meat you have totally missed the boat on e-commerce sir.  The point of eBay was for people to have a hand in small business.  By offering up your own items and set the prices, it's not that much different then your typical neighborhood yard sales, only, with the advent of the internet, you now have a world wide market.  I personally use eBay simply becuase the products I search for, are not always offered in my area.

Of course any wise buyer is going to know the market, wholesales and retail prices, and you always have a risk of not getting what you bid on.  There are control measures in place to help out with that.  But you certainly are not going to convince me shopping on eBay is not a good thing to do when I can't find the fish I look for in my local stores.  I have twice the selection at my hands using eBay then I do going to the local retailers, and I may pay an elevated price due to overnight shipping needs, HOWEVER, if I buy in bulk, it comes out even.  If I didn't have to have my fish overnighted, then actually eBay is the superior place to buy from.
