Why are people coming across the US broader,called illegal aliens?

Alien means they aren't citizens.  Illegal means they are breaking the law by not following the proper procedure to come here legally.

First of all, not everyone coming across the border into the US are illegal. Most enter the States legally.

The ones who do not properly go through the processing stage are considered to be here illegally.

Most of our fore-fathers arrived here(the US) by being properly processed upon entering this country. Our government, now more than ever, needs to be aware of who is visiting here or attempting to make this country their new home.

they are here "illegally", and alien just means someone not native to an area.  A preferred term is "undocumented" alien or "undocumented"immigrant.  Undocumented means that they don't have the proper paper work to come to this country legally.  Illegal makes it sound like the person is illegal, not his or her actions.

Sorry but this question sounds funny.

they are called so because they are not legally here in the US. hence the word ILLEGAL and as for the word alien it means NOT NATIVE to this country.

anything not belonging to something is alien.

They are illegal because they are coming to America without a proper passport and  visa, this kind of  visa is not a credit card, it says the country you are entering says it is ok to enter. A passport is issued by the country you are from.

Alien means somebody from another place. Not outer space, in this case (I don't know if ET would need a visa or not)
