  1. You could give a "tip" to a stranger , but then why? It's more than likely a share ramp. As to advice, you use the word stranger. To give worthwhile advice you need to know the person's complete financial circumstances.

  2. It's not proper giving advice to others especially in this type of media and no respectable person would provide specific investment information.

    One should never give investment advice without knowing a good bit of  personal information, such as age, current income and other data such as risk tolerance, martial status, and demographics

    There are some on this site that are licensed and they are forbidden from giving specific advice blindly

  3. Because just telling someone what stock or fund to buy is only 40% of being successful in investing.

    It leaves out the importance of;

    "asset allocation"

    position sizing

    exit strategies

    follow up on current health of recomendation

  4. advice can only be given when one knows more about the financial goals and personal background of the person than one would know about a stranger.

  5. Try Dinky Dooble @ Kemptown, 2.45 on the 30th June.

    It is a banker, you cannot lose. (honest)

  6. No ones coy about it. I have never asked anyone about investment advice outside the internet but if you ask for advice over the internet you will get it. + There are many, many different strategies so people don't want you lose to capital by introducing the one which works best for them but doesn't work well for you.
